This has got to be one of my best pieces yet.

This was actually a remake of an older drawing(one that never was posted in my gallery, thank God.. D: ).

The two in the picture are my main OCs, Rayne Amaranth and Rose Mennenheart.

Rayne is a human-born demon, shunned and almost completely unloved by anyone, until Rose came into his life at a young age. After saving her from drowning in the river many years ago, Rayne's life changed almost instantly, and he became "triggered" to her--an instinct that all human-born demons develop when they fall in love. That "trigger" instinct allows Rayne from then on to always protect and/or save Rose from harm of any kind, though it may not always save her..... >.>

Rose was a determined human girl who became a battle-hardened soldier as she grew into a woman, fighting in a war that darkness itself waged. (Not going to ruin it for those who do not know the whole story.... -w-) She fell in love with Rayne after he saved her life at a young age, and now, many many years later, their bond has grown so strong that Hell itself could not break it. Literally. -w-

This piece shows the intimacy & the strength of the bond between them, with her covering his right eye (which is important, for those of you who do not know!!) and seemingly shielding him from the harshness of the outside world which has shunned him for nothing.

For once, the protected one is the protector....
